Em Frank works across ceramics, sculpture and mixed media. Her practice is driven by material intrigue and a preoccupation with objects that have lived previous lives. Over a decade working with First Nations art centres has shaped her approach to making, deepening her interest in collaborative processes and creative exchange.

Em is compelled by a continuous cycle of inquiry, where each new insight becomes a starting point for the next. She is particularly interested in the conversations that occur between objects and the ways materials carry histories, status, and modes of being in the world. Her work explores how these stories can be activated and subverted through making and assemblage.
